Kaweah River, Class IV+, 1 Day Trip - Whitewater Rafting California
The headwaters of the Kaweah River are located in the High Sierra among 13,000-foot mountain peaks. The river plummets down one of the steepest drainages in California to our starting point a few miles from Sequoia National Park, in Three Rivers, California. The snowcapped peaks create a dramatic background for the enticing Kawaeh River. This 9-mile section of the Kaweah River offers almost non-stop class IV whitewater rafting California action. The Kaweah River runs fast and furious down such rapids as Power House, Cyanotic, Suicide Falls, Upper and Lower Slickies, and Holiday Hole. Just 3 hours from Southern California, the Kaweah River is ideally situated near the spectacular Sequoia National Park, with its ancient redwood groves, the impressive Kings Canyon, and Mineral King Park. Although we only offer 1-day trips for whitewater rafting in California, there is plenty of camping and lodging in the local area. This river is for our most aggressive clients with prior class III experience, good physical condition, and strong swimming abilities. Wet suits are required through mid-May.
